JEWISH SPAIN: the Jewish community of Spain was Europe’s most vibrant Jewish community.
SPANISH CIVIL WAR: the Spanish civil war beagn after an uprising took place by parts of the army against the government of the 2nd Spanish republic. The uprising was led by general Franco whose nationalist forces eventually defeated the Republications in a civil war.
